FIBERS OF THE SELF (1)_edited.jpg

Mirrors COLLECTION

“Mirrors” is a merino wool collection that delves into the profound idea that those we encounter are reflections of ourselves. Through the tactile language of wool—its softness, strength, and organic flow—the pieces reveal the dialogue between our inner world and the outer one. Layers, textures, and embedded reflective elements evoke the ways in which relationships and experiences mirror our light and shadow, inviting self-awareness, growth, and compassion through the act of seeing ourselves in others.

THE MIRROR PATH .heic

The Mirror Path

The Mirror Path is a tactile, sculptural fiber art piece that explores the poetic truth that every person we meet is, in some way, a mirror of ourselves.

Crafted from soft, natural white Merino wool, the piece is composed of a series of undulating, 3D felted "fins" that curve and rise like organic waves or ripples along a path. These delicate, ethereal structures invite the viewer to move alongside them, echoing the emotional and spiritual movement we experience in relationships.

Embedded within the composition is a vivid section of reds, oranges, and warm amber tones—infused with silk fibers that shimmer subtly—representing moments of intensity, transformation, and personal growth sparked by the presence of others. This section symbolises the passion, friction, and enlightenment that can arise when someone deeply reflects back to us something we needed to see.

Anchoring the piece is a vintage-style, gold-framed mirror—both literal and metaphorical. Positioned to reflect the viewer and the work simultaneously, it becomes a portal for introspection. As one walks past or engages with the artwork, the mirror silently echoes the core message: everyone on our journey shows us something of ourselves.

This work is a felted meditation on connection, self-awareness, and the sacred threads between us all. It’s a tribute to the mirrors we meet, the reflections they offer, and the personal evolution they inspire.

THREADS OF REFLECTION_edited.jpg

Threads of Reflection

Soft, sculptural fins of white merino wool rise in gentle rhythm, their fluid forms suggesting pathways unfolding in space. Nestled within the piece, silk accents in luminous red and orange ignite a pulse of warmth—like sparks of transformation along life’s journey. At the center, a round golden mirror invites viewers to see themselves reflected, weaving them directly into the work.

This piece speaks to the way the people who matter most in our lives often act as mirrors, showing us both our brilliance and our shadows. Through these reflections, we are given the chance to learn, to grow, and to recognize the threads of light and darkness that make us whole.

Fibers of the self

Fibers of the Self is an intimate, circular 3D textile wall art that explores the layered complexity of identity and emotional self-awareness. Crafted from soft white merino wool, the piece features a series of gracefully curved fins radiating outward, creating a gentle rhythm of movement and form. These undulating shapes evoke a sense of internal unfolding — like thoughts, memories, or parts of the self emerging from within.

Between several of the woolen fins lie delicate pieces of silk in a range of blue tones. These silk accents introduce a sense of emotional depth, symbolizing the range of feelings we carry: calm, melancholy, clarity, and introspection.

At the core of the piece is a small, round mirror bordered with delicate golden leaves. The mirror invites the viewer into the work — a quiet moment of self-reflection.

Fibers of the Self speaks to the essential human need to see and accept ourselves fully — not just our image, but our emotional truth. It invites the viewer to look inward with compassion, recognizing that we are woven together by many threads, and that all of them — the soft, the complex, the shimmering — are worthy of being seen.

THE ECHO OF YOU AND ME_edited.jpg

The Echo of you and me

The Echo of You and Me is a three-dimensional textile wall art that invites introspection and emotional resonance. This ethereal piece is crafted primarily from soft, white merino wool, hand-felted into gently undulating fins that emerge like organic waves. Each fin curves subtly giving the impression of motion — as if the piece is breathing, alive with the energy of presence and relationship.

Between the layers of white wool, delicate pieces of silk in varying shades of blue, catching the light with every shift in perspective. These silk accents symbolize the emotional currents that flow quietly between individuals: vulnerable, fluid, and deeply felt. The blue represents thought, empathy, and emotional depth — the intangible threads that bind us to one another.

At the top of the sculpture lies a circular mirror, bordered by hand-applied golden leaves. The mirror reflects the viewer back at themselves, immediately placing them inside the work. The golden leaves, fragile yet radiant, suggest the sacredness and delicacy of human connection.

The work is titled The Echo of You and Me to express the mutuality and reflection found in significant relationships. Just as a mirror returns our image, so too do those closest to us reflect our truths, challenge our perceptions, and shape our becoming. This sculpture captures that subtle, profound echo — the way we see ourselves more clearly in the presence of another.
